i was thinking more like coming in contact with water make them mermaids like what if it is humid outside will they become mermaids or will they not become mermaids, how wet is wet?? like how humid does something have to be for them to transfer to mermaids and it's extremely inconvenient why would it be like that wouldn't it make more sense that they would have to be fully submerged in water for it to happen rather than like ah fuck it started raining guess i'll be a mermaid now lol
