Yes, my biggest beef with Dexter is that a lot of the beginning plot lines are very good and interesting but they needed more time to breathe and maybe be partially resolved and then picked up again in a later season  like for doakes it felt like a lot of set up so it should have been resolved like in s3 or 4 and Lila just felt very random pop in pop out you barely remember her later n I also just hate the Dexter cheating plotline cos it doesn’t make sense to me 😭
Dexter cheated in the 7th book too 😭 with a super celebrity he got hired to protect cus someone wanted to kill her or smth, n he had to sleep in same hotel room as her (ahh). And then the dude that wanted to kill the celebrity woman (actually another celebrity) killed rita, and dexter got sent to prison for it cus obv nobody believes a celebrity randomly killed Rita
