i think it's really worrying that porn addiction is a rapidly growing problem, expecially considering the biggest risk group is boys ages 10-18. Actual children. I think it's become too accessible and engrained into everything else, like even just watching a tv show on netflix you're pretty likely to witness a lot of sex scenes. and it doesn't even have to be there. showing people have sex in every other episode can't be all that important to the plot.

i went to see a movie at the cinema two weeks ago and had read multiple reviews and got a good impression of the movie, but what is this, suddenly there's a graphic rape scene with realistic sounds and everything, indistinguishable from the porn you find on pornhub yet the age rating for that movie was 15 years and up! i was so triggered i almost got up and left lol but i didn't want to draw any attention to myself.

i feel really alone in being bothered by shit like this and it's kinda making me think i shouldn't be alive in todays society and that there is no way i can live a happy life.

idk, maybe find some ethical porn sites??? like bellesa is literally what all of my feminist and leftist friends are using. although it IS catered towards women, it is much better than pornhub and those sites :-/

you have to talk to him and make sure he understands how upsetting this is to you. i'm not saying your bf has a problem, but it took my bf months to come out of denial about his issues and i think my bfs way of dealing with it would probably be the most common. like always reassuring yourself it's not important, not a big deal, everyone else does it too and so on. if you want him to stop watching porn you might have to put some pressure on him.

i have tried so hard, he just doesnt get it. his arguments are that well, he isnt sexist, he treats people equally, he doesnt have weird expectations in bed. he asks me if i agree with all of this, and i say yes, i do, and he says "then what's the problem?" and i dont know how to respond

I'm really sorry you had to go through that :-( I hope my comment wasn't making you feel bad because I didn't intend to do so. I completely agree with what you're saying though, I think I haven't just thought too much of it really. And maybe that just proves the point you're trying to make, we see so much sex everywhere it is so normal to us we don't even question it
