I was born in 99 so like I had a millennial childhood but with a gen z teenage years it's weird. Like I didn't use the computer really until I was like 10 because my brother hogged the computer to play RuneScape so I went outside or watched TV
I feel like I'm more like gen z but just...older and sometimes I get the references but other times I don't really know
Yea i feel like a handful of the early gen z have become adult and is not as related too what gen z is seen as now.

To be fair i don't undertand generations either? what are they made for in the first place? and why isn't a generation 10 years? Is generation just a generalisation of the most stereotypical in that decade?

yeah so in that sense we can relate more to millennials since they don't get them either. I only know some references because my friends are a bit more into gen z culture than I am lol

Yea idk, i heard about gen z a bunch and it's alot of times just how dumb and lazy we are. As far as i understand it's a way too talk about a bunch of people in the same period of time. And while we might share interests like games, tv and such we grew up with. It has changed into a thing about attitude or personalities.
Im not sure if it was meant to be about attitude too in the first place, but there is a difference between saying "gen z (millenials) grew up when this and this happened", rather than saying "oh gen z is lazy and gen z is mean"

I know it's not always the case, but i have seen that multiply times

i was born in 97 but idk gen z just doesn't feel right? cos i associate that a lot with kids born in the 00s and like social media and shit? and i'm not very good with these things lol i definitely suffer more from the housing shortage and shit

it's weird how 'generations' span like... 20 years. Because sometimes even a couple of years makes so much difference. I was born in 1994 and my bf was born in 1988 for example and what was popular when he was young was so different to when I was young etc.

I like how they added the "cusp years" to these definitions, because it really shows the struggle of those being to young for one generation, yet too old for the other, especially when you use things like shows they watched, toys they grew up with, events that shaped their childhood to define a generation and not just a single year.
anyhow, we always got told in school, that we were Millenials, but then again, I'm from 1996 and I was one of the older kids in that class back then (failed one year twice, no biggie, skipped once in middle school)
but to be fair, that was at a point where they only just started using the definition Gen Z (because generations are only named after they are halfway past)
