*Gender* dysphoria is about your genitals, more than anything (as far as I know), meanwhile body dysmorphia is feeling bad about how you look. Maybe you think you're fat or too skinny, too tall or too short, and feel that discomfort more intense than the natural discomfort about your body
Ok both r dysphoria then, nothing shows up on google if u search dysmorphia, so its just gender dysphoria and regular dysphoria then ig
You have to search body dysmorphic disorder. I just call it body dysmorphia to make it shorter

one thing that im curious abt is do u think its valid to have dysphoria and be NB instead of identifying w the opposite gender

Of course, some NB people for example only want to get top surgery but no bottom surgery, or the other way around etc. Since gender is not a binary, ppl can be dysphoric bc they're not cis, but that doesn't mean they always have to completely be the ''opposite gender'' since there's so much outside of that and in between. And to add to the first sentence, not all trans/NB people always want to transition, transitioning does not equal being valid or not. I also don't really think 'what's valid' is for other people to decide bc it's so different for everyone and that doesn't make someone more or less valid!
But isn't dysphoria all about the way you feel about your body and your genitals are (feeling wrong about them)? So if, for example, a transgender women wanted to be seen as women physically, wouldn't make more sense for them to try to change their physical appereance? Asking this because it's kinda obvious to see who's trans and who isn't, depending on how they transition, when and if they use more cosmetic surgeries or so, and if you see a transgender woman who does not really pass well, it's easy to see them as male. And I think that would worsen dysphoria
in a way, true, but trans people should (and I'm saying should because sadly there's also trans ppl who only get surgery to experience less transphobia from other people and to be more passable, which in an ideal world shouldn't be the reason) want to transition for THEM and not for anyone else. boobs & a coochie doesn't necessarily mean woman, flat chest & peepee doesn't necessarily mean man. Some trans people want those surgeries because it makes them feel more comfortable. But not everyone clings to the ''these parts make you male, these parts make you female'', so that's why some people don't want it or only want some surgeries instead of ''all''. Gender is about how you feel on the inside, not how you look on the outside and parts don't define gender. So if for example a trans man doesn't feel dysphoric over his chest not being flat cause he doesn't see boobs = female, then that's totally fine.  Cis people should also try to work on not always assuming everyones gender cause this would solve so much!! Trans ppl shouldn't only want surgery because of how cis people view them, you can 'compare' this a lil to for example women shaving their legs only to be seen as 'attractive' by men!

oh no I didn't mean it like that, I meant it like cis ppl expecting trans people to have surgery so they seem more passable/'easier to understand' for cis ppl can be slightly compared to men expecting women to shave to be more 'attractive'. both things they actually don' have a say in yk
