i get having two events if like theres one intimate event just for family and one big event for like everyone. like that part makes sense to me. but we have a big family and lot of us dont invite cousins cause theres 11 aunts and uncles to invite so when you also start inviting their kids its just too many people. some of my cousins have had weddings that just ban anyone under 18.
oh yeah no that part makes sense to me to but why not just hav a small ceremony n then one big event afterwards . rather than throwing in a random afternoon tea in the middle lol. GOD i wanna go to a wedding ive literally been to like one? two in my life n thats when i was a child
is 'afternoon tea' a normal thing in new zealand? like that would sound rediculous in america idk.

Yes, it's common. New Zealanders are mostly from Britain.
