i would but i have no idea what to search to find it. it didn't make big big news or anything and hype died out within a day (thankfully). would help if i could remember the uni name - it was a fairly well known liberal arts collegePersona wrote:
idk if you saw this, but a student from a uni in the US emailed her professor that she believed the syllabus of the module he was teaching (and that she was due to take) didn't have enough authors of colour. He emailed her back that there were several authors of colour on the syllabus, defended his syllabus and said he'd take her criticisms into consideration for the next year he taught it. He was a little patronising in his reply, but not rude.
This wasn't good enough for the student, so she posted his reply on twitter, doxxed him (revealed his full name, uni and the subject he taught) and encouraged people on Twitter to email the dean and complain about this professor's behaviour. This thread got THOUSANDS of RTs. Tons of people replied saying they emailed on her behalf. She basically tried to hold some kind of morality crusade in order to get this guy fired for basically nothing. It was like a week before the academic year was about to start - was she expecting him to change his entire syllabus for one student??
idk how people can think doing something like this is okay
