while i do think she has some form of mental illness i also think she was very aware of it n i think it's the way she is in general, some are born that way unfortunately 
yeah but it's likely not related to getting attention because why would you isolate. all i'm wondering about is his dad tbh because i read that the neighbours was like the same advent star has been hanging in the window for 30 years so i'm like.. did something happen 
yeah that's what i mean! no attention was involved so it's quite clear she did everything to isolate him, the complete opposite rly

For sure, sounds like they didn't do something as simple as searching her house or anything?

I hope he won't be "forgotten" by the system when ever he is out of the hospital. I could imagine he need some help to learn the basics of taking care of himself and be updated on what had happened in the world.
