my mum found my goth phase rather disturbing and hated the skulls but I stand by them.

tbh, skulls are cool
if it were allowed, I would totally have skulls or even mummified body parts to collect
but alas, law isn't fond of my aesthetic
I had a deer skull and a fox skull and several bird skulls and bones from chickens and pigs but I buried them in the forest last summer because I kinda had a bad feeling about them, most were found in the same forest anyway.

I think it is legal to own a human skull in Germany, idk about borders tho.

ok, animal bones are great too :d
I'm not sure though? wasn't there this thing about just for medical use? like, you're not even allowed to keep the ashes of your family, why should you be allowed to keep a skull? also, I think mummy is definitely a no
will look that up if I know if I'll be staying in Germany or not
also, where to get them from, I kinda don't want an unethical skull or so, like some killer getting rid of their evidence or the like. or a robbed tomb. that'd just be hella disrespectful in my eyes

omg, I remember back when wearing a rosary was all the hype for some people and most didn't even know what a rosary was for
THAT imo is more offensive than just wearing a cross
but I feel like wearing a cross when not being a christian is about the same as wearing those palm symbols (me not knowing the names of them and showing how ignorant I am) when you're not part of that religion (not sure and I don't want to say it wrong, so me not naming anything here, you know what I mean)
are there really people who grew up in predominantly Christian countries who don't know what a rosary is for? Genuinely curious because I grew up in a very religious household and I have 4 rosaries that I sometimes use (mostly after someone has died).

You are not allowed to own your relative's skull but I think older ones are fine as long as they are not proven to come from something illegal?
I have heard that collectors of older medical models sometimes sell them on eBay but idk I haven't tried to buy one yet.

yes, they were even out of supposedly christian familiey - well at least they go to church every sunday
but again, I think that was just typical Luxembourg bullshitting where people are religious if it brings them anything good and don't give a shit about religion if they can't profit off it
I grew up in a very non religious household and I was the only one in my class who knew what was in the bible and why we celebrated christmas in second grade

tried looking it up, apparently it's handled in the Bestattungsgesetz, but can't find anything there, especially as every Bundesland has its own rules
also ... who would you ask so they don't send you the police over? :d on most threads I could find, people were just like "no, no one should have bones, this is so unethical, dafuq is wrong with you for even asking", so I doubt you could ask there :d

Okay I googled and apparently it is not illegal to own them, but it's harder to get them than it was 50 years ago , because bones aren't imported anymore because of the shady business with skeletons from Asian countries (suicide victims, bones from mass graves, etc.).

so yeah, I wouldn't want to own a human skull if I don't know the person was okay with it and you can't know if you don't know the exact source so it's a no for me personally (also I'm not rich).

yeah, that's what would put me off too, because I'd find that really nasty and disrespectful
(oh, I'm not even talking about the price thing, this is purely me dreaming)
