I read on a site that your ascendant is especially important because that is not only how people see you, but it is also the way the other planets in your chart expresses themselves, they have to express themselves through the ascendant because the ascendant is what determines what you allow in and out through your body.

so with cancer ascendant and sun Aries I could actually somehow imagine that you get some Scorpio-like qualities because it’s like being sensitive and reserved on the outside, but at the same time with the Aries sun there are “hints” about your more wild side. It looks a little bit like the Scorpio energy, almost like it mimics it, even tho it is not the same.
