dude I am convinced that the reason I grew up gravitating towards music, movies, and books that were so obscure, is because I was scared of being "quizzed" by people
I missed out on so much good pop culture lol
Yea i feel you 100% though i’m just on my way to the more obscure shit

// also i don’t feel like quoting 3 messages at once lmao but death proof is one of my favorite movies too!! Tarantino bros hate strong badass women

Django and once upon a time in Hollywood are my favourites by him, but I really dislike him as a person.

His movies can be entertaining though but I have no idea why he is so worshipped
Tarantino leaves all kinds of hidden goodies to find throughout his movies and it makes boring men feel intelligent
It’s the same effect as in rick and morty the series.... just the right amount of basic physics theory to make the viewer feel intelligent.... i once again love the show but the fans are unbearable.

Death Proof was actually my first Tarantino movie and it got me into car chase movies and that kinda gritty texas garage music. Death Proof TOTALLY changed the way I watch movies and absorb music. I LIKE Tarantinos movies a LOT,  I think he's talented and he definitely opened my eyes to a whole different world of cult movies - the ones HE took inspiration from.
and you know what? the fans of THOSE cult movies are far less pretentious and gate-keepy, I literally am in facebook groups with dirty old men who like vintage sleaze who are like, so stoked (and surprisingly uncreepy!) that younger folks and women are finding interest in it.
I ain't about trying to force my way into a seat at the table, I'll just roll over to the cooler one that likes me lol

yess I agree 100%! There’s so much to look for and everything just gets better the more movies you see.
Ahh I love that so much!! That’s so cool.  Maybe I should get into those kind of communities as well - for now I have just enjoyed all kinds of movies alone or with one of my friends..
