tfw my hairtype is like this (this isn't me btw lmao)

like the least sexy hair out there
gets greasy in 4 hours, can't be styled because it's too thin and soft, does not hold volume, gets matted at the drop of a hat

i'm currently wearing it in braids so it doesn't lump together in a huge nest. i hate my hair so so so much

could it because you're using wrong products? ofc i don't know what you're using but if your hair looks like the picture then i def see some curl potential

so if i understand correctly, these are the steps:
1. cleanse with shampoo
2. use conditioner (also to detangle hair)
3. dry with cotton t-shirt
4. hair oil?
yes, and put the oil on when ur hair is still a bit damp, and press it in instead of rubbing, the rubbing disturbs ur curl pattern n produces frizz

FOR ME at least

thank you so much for your help! i've been really hesitant on reaching out for help with my hair but i've already learned so much. i will try to find a good conditioner and see if it'll help with the frizziness :)

which conditioners do you use, if you use any? how do you use it? educate me please
I use Shea Moisture's Jamaican Black Castor Oil strengthen shampoo & conditioner.
There's one with coconut oil that a lot of people love as well if you were to look into that brand.
Coconut oil is great, but makes me itchy so I'll usually put some into the ends and avoid my scalp.
I like to section my hair into two parts and rub some of the conditioner into it to detangle with my fingers. (It should feel slippery like seal skin).
You want to leave conditioner in for 2-3 minutes (the bottle typically says that).
There's also a method you could use called "squish-to-condish" that can help the curls form and create less frizz.
@Sofia
@Focalin
do you use a towel to squish your hair or a t-shirt? maybe a third option as well?
t-shirt or get a microfiber towel.
Regular towels create frizz.

wrap your hair in a silk scarf when you sleep ! or get a silk pillowcase (but tbh only the scarf helps keep frizz away for me because i toss and turn too much)
