no, or at least it shouldn’t.
it’a illegal to use ability groups over a long period of time
hmm we did it in maths, the whole trinn got split in to 4-5 ish groups and it was so much better tbh
like we could focus on the right level of difficulty n the teacher was actually able to help, not getting headaches from the brain gymnastics of jumping between 2+2 and calcularing the distance to the sun every other minute

yes once we got into year 9 (The sets ranged 1 - 6 with set 1 being the smartest and set 6 being the people that needed a lot of help for everything)

I was in second set for everything which made me happy knowing i was going to have people who won't do the work messing around but all my friends were in the set below so i was all alone and when it came to group work it wasn't as enjoyable as i was often ignored or my ideas went unheard because the people in my set seemed to only talk to people they think were smart like them and they clearly didn't think i was.

In a way it did help me when it came to my GCSEs because at least i knew that the teachers thought i would do well in them (which thankfully i did every A* and A except for math which was a C because i hadn't been feeling well the day of the exam so came in for it then went home straight after)
