totally anecdotal but when i was obese i'd occassionally get some mean comments on my body and i would say i still get the same amount of mean comments. maybe i just didn't experience fatphobia but sometimes i get the impression that some of the body positivity people are just mad they're not being applauded and given special treatment for their weight like they assume skinny people are (they're not lmao most people are barely acknolwedged unless they have a huge social platform)
I think being praised for being skinny/underweight is mostly an internet thing. I feel most ppl irl just think of skinny ppl as a beinrangel uknow 🤔 more so than with slight overweight, slight overweight is the new norm so. My mom is obese too yes, and I don't think she gets any comments on her body, but she does like putting her insecurities on others, like thinking overweight or healthy weight ppl r too skinny. Just, idk why that is a thing. Would probably b different for her if she was a kid and not nearing 40 tho
