Yes many of the ppl in health at every size movement does not seem to understand that. They think "restricting" what ur kid eats is legit abuse but thats just,, what. Its not even restricting, I understand u can't put a child on an extreme diet, but as someones parent ur kind of obligated to try to make them be healthy, at the very least cutting down on food  if ur child is obese and can't even do regular child stuff cus their in so bad health
I'd also say (at least when I was growing up) lots of parents are so uneducated about what actually constitutes as a good diet for a growing child that they could be inadvertently hurting their kid even when they had the best of intentions.
I was definitely fucked up from moms intermittent health kicks, and I still think it effects my body to this day.
True true, I think if u don't know much abt diet urself there should be a place to easily get information and help to get ur kid a healthy diet, but that doesn't matter when ppl can't seperate eating healthily and restricting too much
I think there's a lot more accessible information out there now than there was when I was young tbh.

I grew up in the era of "pump the kids full of milk or their bones will crumble to dust" propaganda

Ofc internet n all, but more personal help easily accessible would b nice, esp in cases where the entire family is fat cus thats how they have been learned to eat from their parents, and their parents again before that, so if they realize "ok this isn't healthy n we r acc eating rlly bad n its starting to impact my childs (and everyone else in the family obv) health, mby I should help them" personalized help would be better I think, cus if u have no idea how a healthy diet looks like its gonna be hard to know where to look and what to listen to and not listen to, even w unlimited access to internet and books

I mean I don't know what obesity looks like in other countries but in the US there's a strong link between obesity and poverty/food deserts.

I think mby it isn't that connected here, I think the price of unhealthy food isn't ridiculously cheap in comparison to healthy food like it is in the us (from what I know at least abt prices in a country I have never been to). But I think poverty can also probably influence cus they might get bad education, so for generations nobody knows how to eat properly healthy n ppl probably think its overwhelming and very hard to lose weight if they know nothing bat it
