if you want to see area blocked content or if you torrent, you should get a vpn. otherwise it really isnt necessary

tbh I use the same password for most things lmaoooooo,,, the only thing I've gone out of my way to further secure than a singular bad, bad terrible password is my runescape account on which I have like.. mobile authentication thingie

i basically use the same password for everything or atleast i used to but then i got scared that i got hacked and changed everything everywhere, including my 3 mails, but since i changed the mail passwords i have never been able to remember the new ones so i keep resetting the password and i think that’s somewhat good ???

I do have an antivirus, Im very careful about deliberately downloading stuff (only certified sources) and I use a different very string password for all things regarding mail or somehow linked to finances. Truth be told, you could easily hack my vp account and I wouldn't care, all it gave you was my email adress and a password you can't use anywhere else (and if it's probably just some very old deviantart account or something that I've long since forgotten about)
for the rest, I'm an open book - because honestly, people truly misunderstand the power of vpns anyway. my router changes IP adress every time it reboots, so I don't have to worry about sites knowing me because of my ip adress (they do know my mac adress though and that's something even most vpns can't change, you have to have deep pockets if you want to be that anonymous because even tor is not as secret and hidden as many people claim)

Lmao

So, I have this thing
I’ve created four/five smaller and simple passwords (a cat123 type of password)
and then,
I mix and match them all to create a «new» password for whatever

I’m telling myself I’m a genious for this lol
but honestly i don’t think it’s quite that bad of an idea after all

especially for me who’s short term memory (incl. passwords) is shit terrible
it makes it easier for me to remember
and a pretty hard combination for others to discover

Otherwise I use free antivirus programs, and adblock

i hate lettkng google remember my passwords,
for some reason it doesn’t feel safe to me
but recently I’ve given less care about the matter
now google several of my passwords

so i'm very paranoid about this stuff due to which i'd love to study cybersecurity professionally, however in my current situation i'm unable to. for now i'm just a hobbyist

in sites i frequent + aren't as important, i use simple passwords mostly bc i don't wanna dig out my phone each time i log in oof
for more important sites i have strong passwords i myself don't know but use a password saving software to store them for me ++ change them every now and then. i use 2-factor authentication anywhere possible (including the password saving software so no one can get there that easily)

antivirus softwares can be useful if used right but hinderance if not. i have malwarebytes premium mostly to block out anything my adblock doesn't catch + to scan the rare files that might come with something undesirable. real-time protection is the most useful aspect they offer - it's far more efficient to keep out the bugs before ever letting them in

i also use vpn as an added layer of protection, but a regular user may not find one useful unless they wish to access sites or servers of other countries

if u really really desperately wish to conceal u identity online, u would turn to virtual machines, but setting up that shit is painful especially if u don't got the beef to run it

i used to use the same password everywhere but it got leaked and EVERYTHING got hacked (including my snapchat and someone even messaged my friends there lmao that was fun)
now my passwords are ridiculously long and i don't remember any of them

it was kinda funny when my accounts got hacked because i'm definitely not computer-illiterate and i study comp sci (minor) in university but i'm just too lazy to be careful around the internet
like i know a lot of cyber security but i really don't care about my own safety i guess

i have hard time to write my passwords because yeah they be like they are supposed to be. i also have like different variation of same password almost everywhere, so i never remember which is where
