example: i really identify with sailor moon. i'm also a crybaby who gets bad grades and seeing her be strong helps me feel like i can be strong.

or: i found it hard to identify with the main character of this shojo manga because she's a pick me and i found most of her choices annoying.

if u wanna be the character u can like.. cosplay in cosplay environments or have a club for it but public forums are like... no. like let me dress up as alina starkov. but like it is so weird to be like "sorry guys, i am this fictional character now. I will only be addressed as Alina and I can mainpulate light\summon sunshine! My map is btw different than yours and if you say something else, it is really harmful for me and how I percieve the world. It could really mess w my mental health. btw, I'm actually a saint.
