i like attention and the sound of my own voice so literally any opportunity like this would be worth my time

but also every thing you do will draw more attention to your program and to yourself you could be opening doors for consulation work by doing media
Yeah the radio story alone got us tons of folks wanting to send money. Unfortunately we don't have a way to accept it yet - but a local nonprofit is gonna administratively house the project and handle our funds for us soon. Just need to get a contract written up.

I am above water!
I'm basically right in the center of Kentucky - the closest real city is Lexington.

I've been helping with some of the supply efforts, we received like 12 pallets of medical/harm reduction supplies (stored in a friends under-construction restaurant) which we are about to sort and start distributing where they're most needed.
but unfortunately I haven't been able to contribute to the cleanup much more than that bc of my disabilities.
i ligterally made a thread a couple weeks ago about how worried i was https://en.virtualpopstar.com/social/forum?category=2&topic=351821&p=last

its seriously like, all-hands-on-deck when it happens.
eastern ky got hit bad last year too, and they'd hardly even begun to recover.
this was like 20ft of water, I heard.

I was literally just out there for a show, smoking a joint in the parking lot of an outdoor event space with my favorite living musician.
then a few weeks later it was basically gone.

I mean while I'm grateful for any money and supplies folks wanna give us, the program costs so much that individual donations don't go very far.
I'd actually rather them be recurring-donors to the nonprofit housing us, because grassroots organizations like them are needed to help folks like us get established.

I'm about to apply for a $10,000 grant, which I'm 99.9% sure I'll get, and then another $10,000 grant six months later, which I'm positive I'll get.
The story did lead folks to reach out to us with other large funding opportunities we can apply for.

If I divide all the costs by the hours, it costs about $400 an hour to put the program on. (things like this aren't really calculated that way, but just for perspective)
