Maybe I should looke into the game sometime
Definitely but be wary, it's still EA so unless you got really good specs, it'll be laggy af
I will keep that in mind ^^

i dont have any characters i play bcs im exclusively a dm and none of these other bitches wanna dm ! smh
i have a ton of sexy character ideas tho
i guess my group's supposed to start playing this week idk we'll see ! im doing a lil beginner campaign with smth pre-made i bought and then turning that into a bigger thing ive made mostly myself, so far ive enjoyed building the world but it's getting to the part where i should start making up factions and key characters and im just ugh maybe ill just wait instead and finish my script for the first adventure !
Being DM sounds kind of fun, I'd love to try it one day but I'm not sure I'm capable.
Did you make your own world for your campaign?
DMing is so exhausting but also no one else will do it so im the overlord by default heh
it's basically just faerun generic fantasy land but i made a specific location for it that im developing further as we go !!!! im having a lot of fun w it im pouring all my interests in it and excited for my players to get there so i can rly flex my storytelling muscles

Yeah I hear that a lot, there's simply not enough potential DMs out there. Or there are, they just don't want to be. It's sad D:

it is rly hard ! you have to juggle soooo many things and be super knowledgeable of rules and you never know what your players might throw at you so you gotta swing with it and most of the time try to do the "yes and" thing instead of stonewalling and being a bad DM. on top of that keeping NPCs in check, having the world be a living thing, balancing roleplaying and combat, figuring out loot and rewards and scaling, changing plans on the fly you worked rly hard on but now wont happen because one of the players came up with something else AND keeping it comprehensive ksdlkdjfsljg
i still enjoy it tho !!! and ive gotten kinda good at it and making my players feel like they decide where to go instead of me railroading them. i have sooooo many funny and fun adventure ideas im rly in love with

The whole schedule is hard to work around. My group and I used to only play every 3 months due to schedule issues.
It's a bit sad, luckily online play is an option shah
But being a noob is part of the fun, because you just mess around until you start getting a feel of your character and the world
I am very much not the messing around to figure stuff out kind of gal, but more the read everything I can find and then dive into the cold after you think you're well informed
sadly, DnD seems to be a VERY complex topic if you're really getting into the nitty gritty
It definitely is if you get into the nitty gritty, but it's also very loose and you can interpret a lot of things how you want. In the end it's the DM who decides.
It's quite fun, a good way to test your fantasy for sure.

my setting is this country built into a huuuuge massive crater that was created by a magic meteoroid that ripped a tear thru heaven n hell basically. and now, hundreds of years later the land is infused with magic which attracts adventurers and scholars and evildoers and offers a shitload of fun opportunities to really fuck things up with magic
my players are a vigilante wizard, a cleric (with a false god..?) and a teen rogue that ran away from her powerful mage family bcs she couldnt do magic so there's so many possibilities for them

as i write this i keep getting more n more ideas  h elp

They look good, I love how different they seem - personality wise!
Yahala looks stunning

My character is also a rogue tiefling, if you hadn't guessed. Her name is Errich Mostana, but goes by a bunch of cover names. Lately mostly Morgana and Sticky Fingers.
Ironically she's also quite the entertainer, she loves getting attention when she's on the scene playing music on the different taverns.
Heee, tyy

Sticky Fingers.... xD Mood that is
She sounds fun!!
She's a bunch of fun. There's the character in our team who well he is a captain of this guilt. They've got a fun brother/sister type of relationship, he's the one who gave her the nickname. It's fun
Errich is a chaotic person, last time we played my character convinced the captain to unlock this one door they very obviously shouldn't open. They didn't manage to open, but the uncovered the opening beneath the door and then they ended up being cursed.

All I know is that next time we are playing there's a 95% chance that one of our teammates will kill my character ahah
We had a smol pvp in our last session but no one ended up badly hurt (yet) xD

I have this idea that this juggling balls situation is both the annoying and the fun part all in one. It sure sounds like quite the challenge, and probably not something you learn overnight.
I really want to learn someday, I'd love to be a DM and create my own homebrew etc. But it'll probably take a while before I'm there.

I can imagine it must be nice when your players get enough into the game that they kind of take charge as well, it must be fun when your players throw a curve ball at you.

Oooh that sounds interesting.
That rogue sounds like they'll have a good option to multi class at some point

Feel free to enlighten me with those ideas!
