yeah, avg shipping is 1-2 weeks here, but can take longer when they come from britain which is most books because Britain is the international editions (just showing how US-centered everything is).
yup and when it comes to translation, a lot of them in German are only barely decent and the decision on which ones to translate is soooooooo infuriating, it's really only shit like colleen hoover and that specific brand of weird ya and adult fiction that's just hyperfocused on shitty relationship-dynamics
YES. EVERYONE IS DOING COLLEEN HOOVER NOW BECAUSE OF TIKTOK. I'M LOSING IT EVERY TIME I ENTER A STORE. AAAAA
shit, I forgot the open wound this is for you, I didn't want to put salt in it :/

I feel like somewhere along the lines the kiddies from today haven't gotten the memo that just because there is an appeal for some when it comes to non-con and all that stuff, that that doesn't mean it's a romantic and cute thing to have in a relationship

there are so many new and young readers that don't have the experience and which consider a book that reads easily and engaging as good and anything spicy as romantic and healthy and stuff like that. lack of critical thinking and stuff like that. but also, there are ppl who've been on booktube that are adults now and been through both CoHo eras that still love those books so much and i'm here like "sorey no stop pls". we have canceled books for less.

honestly, been wanting to put "dance of thieves" by mary e. pearson back on my tbr list. I finished the OG series when it released and loved it a lot back then, but I wasn't feeling it for another book at the time, but now the entire spin-off series is out..

I have such a long list of books I'm gonna read during this fall/winter, but some of them are:

* Things we never got over by Lucy Score
* Thirteen Storeys by Jonathan Sims
* Stolen Toungues by Felix Blackwell
* The Inheritance Games-trilogy
* Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
* A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
* The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse
* The Lamplighters by Emma Stonex
The beginning of Shatter Me is so good!

Heart of Betrayal was such a vibe (I will just run down memory lane in this monologue), like it really went so hard on "there's always more to take" which literally destroyed me. I was so shocked.

The premise of it is super interesting still for me. I read it back in 2016, I think, and only finished the 3 main books that were out around that time (maybe the 4 had just released, i don't remember). But yeah, like one and two is great and they read so fast as well. You're gonna run through it in no time and it's gonna be wonderful. but i'm not gonna spoil so I hope you enjoy it

I do not. I'm not on tiktok really, but tiktok is on every top list internationally.

of course, but it's mostly booktube and booksta books I read years ago being recycled because they are new to the young audience on there. and the other part, I do not care to read or already know about if they are new releases because I do stay updated on releases in general. and there might be some there that would be good, but I do not stand the tiktok format enough to rig my algorithm enough for that and the search bar seems useless since i only see top posts?
