You probably can! The other thing is just easier, but if you cut the tomatoes in bigger chunks and add them to the pot and let them simmer for some time it should result in the same thing.

I think a can of tomatoes is 400 grams or so, so I would probably add a few more tomatoes that 400 grams of them for the same effect.

I picked like 2kg today so it shouldn't be a problem

Omg I'm so jealous.  Fresh tomatoes are the best.

Add salt and pepper to tomato sauce after taste.
I should do a disclaimer here and say that my basil has died in the heat, so I unfortunately haven't added this godsent herb to my tomato sauce, which is a mistake.

I covered the ricotta balls in the tomato sauce before putting them in the oven for 15 minutes.
One of the trays went into the refrigerator for tomorrow.

ohh sounds great, can you send  me the recipe? I have lots of tomatoes
I can!
Do you want it on message, or do you want it here just, where you can save it? Might be easier to find your way back to
just here is fine!
I've added the (normal) recipe on top!

you have to make something out of them real quick though, that's the downside. After max 3 days they start to rot. Idk how they do it in the supermarket.

aah... that really sucks. I think there's tons of not-good stuff on the supermarket ones to keep them fresh for longer. Or maybe it's a different kind of tomato.

Fortunately it's almost tomato soup weather...

While writing out a recipe and burning your blackberry marmelade they'll cook in the oven and  will end up looking like this:

Add grated parmesan and some olive oil before eating.
