A fate inked in blood (book)

That's why I try to avoid all romance/romantasy books that have a high spice meter in their reviews. The lower the spice meter, the more likely the book is to my liking. I'm still traumatized by Icebreaker, which my half-sister recommended after seeing reviews on booktok. I laughed at all the sex scenes. :'D

A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross is a good fantasy book for adults.  It has a decent plot and there is romance. The book's sequel was also good.

The first book I read was Highest Bidder by Willow Winters, and while it was a decent book at the time, looking back at it, it had literally no character relationship building.
After this one I read the ACOTAR series, which I can recommend. It’s not YA, but I feel like there is actually a decent development of the characters relationship and I enjoyed the story of the books.
Thanks for the recommendation.
I read acotar when it released. Don't think I'll be rereading it. Book two was great. Also enjoyed Frost and Starlight but they lost me at how Nesta was treated in SF (name origin).

Idk if you've read it but if u like acotar or tog, poison study is a good read.

Thank you. I have a river enchanted on my eReader already. Also know some spoilers (rip) bc I did a writing course w the author and she used it as an example. I loved Divine Rivals from her, and cr book 2 in that series.

I am really not a spice person at all so there are many "" romantasy"" books and esp adult that just is a instant will not read box. Had hope for inked in blood bc it had vikings and I just jumped into it bc I was going away anyways and needed entertainment and then... Bad.

I hoped it was going to be similar to  the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo or something closer to a feel good book even tho the house biens, but this is just cheating fathers and women that are too good for them and children clearly carrying wounds from their father abandoning them for two years to marry and divorce 3 other women and cheat at least 10 times

And the party never ticking starts
you saying it's different to seven husbands makes me consider if I should pick that one up. I got off the tbr after malibu, but if it's not the same vibe, it might be worth it.
I loved that book. It's set to old Hollywood and is about a Hollywood star (fictional but Marilyn Monroe era vibes) tells her life story to a journalist and practically how she had 7 husbands through her life but SPOILER In white she's actually queer

I am gonna buy a norwegisn copy of that book to my aunt nxt time she needs a present. And after that, Circe in Norwegian. (I keep gicing her books I've read bc she says I only read fantasy and it's not adult enough, but now she have read the secret history (found it a tad too slow and I agree tbh), and the song of achilles (which she loved).) I didn't like Circe but she loves mythology books.
Okay !! you buying for family usually means the quality is good !

The Hanged Gods Trilogy might be better. It's fantasy, not really romance, but seems to have gotten okay ratings. I haven't read it yet though

Maybe I have some high fantasies on my list I need to get to first tho. Besides the ones mentioned on page 1 I also got the entire broken earth trilogy at home

editing my tbr list update bc i don't want to make another book topic

- hate to see lucy undying leaving it bc  the cover is stunning. otherwise, i don't rly like the dracula anything. it's boring me so unless ppl keep raving about this book in a year it's byebye for now. previously read a book by the same author and it was super boring. hated it.
- there are books i want to keep but i rly know i'll never get to them so byebye
- there are dark academia books i wish i would love but i rly have struggled w 9\10 DA books i've read. i love the idea, not the reality.
- a lot of animism and folk books got off the list bc they simply are too hard to get my hands on
- magazines are leaving too
- books that are clearly "cover crush but don't think ill like the inside that much" gone too
