this was mostly from like business pov, considering all that matters for companies is engagement. the users who are upset abt not getting the set because they didn't participate are a bit. well... they are prolly used to getting stuff without much effort :')
i think also the whole uproar itself shows why it's a bad idea - you just Know people are gonna sell and overprice the sets because of fomo

yea i think the fomo will inflate the value of the set a lot
but otherwise i don't think it's a terrible idea, but yeah it's probably better to let the users know beforehand, unfortunately not all surprises are good even when that's the intention... is what i assume yes..
