tldr : students started mass protests against the corrupt government following the death of 16 people (due to corruption/money laundering, a heavy canopy collapsed at a railway station in november 2024, no one has been arrested/charged yet). there's so many layers to this, as the leading party has been in power for over a decade and the corruption runs deep, and the past year has been so very hectic, i can provide more articles or videos if you're curious

Thank you for the link and your summary! Crazy that I didn't know about this. 13 years leading?? I hope the new elections arrive soon and you have a solid candidate to choose from. And let's not hope for the elections extension until late 2027 (how is that allowed?)

his term does end in 2027 but the elections were rigged asf !!!!! minimum wage in serbia is 600 euros, people are poor and desperate and in some fields it's impossible to succeed if you're not a member of the leading party ... our healthcare is fucked, our judicial system is fucked, everything is a mess ;_;
