Hmmm i see what you mean. In that sense yeah their concept would be 'living their lives' which could be any sitcom really
But since it is so close to reality (not reality tv) i'd still say it is different since everyone lives lives differently. In their series it's more about the characters than plot, and i dont think the characters feel copy pasted from another franchise
