what's your favourite book and what's it about?
lately I have been terrible at reading so I need some recommendations please

I can start - my favourite is a danish book called Kongens Fald. A historic novel written in 1801 by Johannes V. Jensen. The main character is Mikkel Thøgersen who's life story is connected to the danish history and the fall of King Christian II. Mikkel is driven by his enormous feeling of hatred and this has big consequences. Read it!

Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar all three books, best books ever written. It's about homosexuals and AIDS in Stockholm and Sweden during the early years basically.

I really liked the first book of the The Mirror Visitor series by Christelle Dabos. It was by far the best book I ever read. I haven't read the other 3 books yet but I'm trying to motivate myself to finally do that. I also enjoyed the Caraval series by Stephanie Garber. I just rly liked the theme of a magical carnival, still need to read the last book tho. Just bought it since it finally got released in german.

Vita Nostra
- slavic fantasy mixing metamorphosis and academia  totally keeps the dark atmosphere all the way through.

A deadly education
- this times readalong book. Reads really smooth, exciting all the way through. Love the worldbuilding.

Tell the wolves im home
- about a teenage girl sorta having a crush on her uncle that died. Shortly after they burry him she learns he was gay and she becomes friends with his bf. (this made it sounds incredible creepy. Would suggest reading the synopsis)

The finale empire
- best female character. Amazing worldbuilding, everything is great. A questionable minus is that it is written so the timespan is much more realistic than most fantasy books so it may be a bit slow at places. It's a trilogy and the first one is about toppling an empire while the two others is about what happens after and everything that's still fucked up.

Caraval
- second and third book are my favorites. Basically romance, games (like tournaments ish) and shocking ending.

I couldnt pick one. These are some that I've enjoyed these last years.

i love the raven cycle series by maggie stiefvater :') her writing is so beautiful and weird
it's young adult urban fantasy and it's hard to summarise well enough to do it justice hsdgjkdg but. it's four books and they're all very good (third one is my favourite) and there's magic and ghosts and psychics and very interesting characters
