snow is fine on a postcard or a photograph. otherwise i hate it with a passion. last week was really bad and there were many crashes and even deaths. it's like this every year. my mom fell and broke her tibia-fibula and had to get a surgery and finally got home yesterday night. she has to wear a cast for 2 months minimum which also means she won't be able to partake in some of the aforementioned traditions we have which includes a visit to the graveyard.

i can't wait (/s) for the melting-freezing-melting-freezing again period during which our town's river floods and is deadly as is but especially so when it turns into ice. ppl say it's the jolliest time of the year but i'd say it's the deadliest honestly.

thats how i feel about christmas, i'm never excited for it until a few days before.

thats so sad about the snow, but thats probably safer than the icy sludge of it melting and refreezing

i also only celebrate Christmas because my family does so i understand the scroog-y mentality, but i definitely missed the food and festivities when i moved and stopped celebrating so maybe i'm just more excited than usual this year

the winter is very dangerous, but i think even summer can be too?
i wonder if theres bee any research on that....

places shutting down for snow is one of the best parts of snow
and the extra pay makes the hassle of the season more worth it honestly

its such a hassle always, i hate the gift giving thing so much lets just spend time together and bake cookies or smn sigh

thats true! snowmelting can lead to weeks of nightmareish conditions outdoors, this really was the best and safest way- but the transformation from a perfect winter wonderland to a drenched grey and brown soup of a landscape within just a couple hours was a sight to witness i didnt know if i wanted to laugh or cry

i avidly prefer holiday crafting get togethers and cookie swaps(or cookie socials) over gift giving too
i think theres a generational disconnect
