stressed about continuing education

I have to finish my last summer class before I get my Bachelors degree in August. I never thought this day would come, but I’m happy and sad at the same time. I always wanted to go to medical school but now I’m stressed about whether it is the right decision. I’m now looking at alternate paths and I don’t want to choose the wrong one because this would be a very costly mistake... $100,000+ in loans for a career you end up not liking.

anyone facing the same issue? I am taking time off to decide but my parents r stressing me out.

Don't rush into something is my opinion on the matter. I rushed into my education and it hasn't gone well at all. I was not ready for the whole thing, but I'm still fighting for my bachelors degree.
So feel the waters and see what you really want to do. Don't let your parents decide because it's your future.

Be realistic about wanting to go to medical school.
like think to your self if you’ve actually seen enough field work to know what you’re getting yourself into.
When i was doing clinicals as a lab tech you shadow phlebotomists, watch and interact with nurses, and also with doctors/pathologists.
like if you’re not ready to get down and dirty you should think twice. And it’s not just money that’s a concern, time is also a big commitment and finishing it off. If you can’t handle 4 years, double that time period to become a MD/DO/other titles involved depending on the specific line you choose.

I reached the end of the tunnel for my Bachelors after struggling mentally and feeling rushed and it feels good. I am happy I finished. I hope you can finish as well. I can 100% relate to you.

Yes. I agree 100% with what you’re saying. I am going to immerse myself more by shadowing and volunteering. I have MDs in my family and family in med school but hearsay isn’t enough lol.
