getting a TATTOO

so i was thinking about getting a tattoo and getting an appointment next month, so i um..
If i get a tattoo to my arm, what will happen to it if I lose weight lmao
my arms aren't really "big" but it's to cover up scars and to be a reminder to myself for something and i really feel the need to get it

it depends on how much weight u lose in how short period of time
either way it will shrink with ur body, but distortion may occur if u lose a lot of weight really fast

But like, my arms are really small compared to my upper arms or stomach, etc.
So I'm thinking I'd get it on my wrist, lower arm or my chest.

I wanted to get it on my lower arm to cover up.

i mean how much weight are you tryna lose here

if you have a big change in weight its going to change the way your tattoo looks.

U have to remember if u get it on your chest over the breast area, if u later on will have kids it might stretch the skin and it will be misplaced there

As long as u don't lose or gain weight drastically i couldn't imagine much happening to it.
I would suggest lower arm or wrist if u worry about it-

I don't know, because I want to lose belly fat and I have no idea how much cardio / weight loss that will take.

It also depends on the tattoo i would say. There ain't to much to worry about if it's text or flowers

But if it's more picture like (people, animals so on) it's more likely to look distorted

it would be a cursive text

Most of the time it looks fine but the proportions are a bit different
I would advise against photo realistic, geometric stuff looks good

Google weight loss tattoo and you'll see pics

and another thing is sometimes it actually isnt possible to tattoo over certain scar tissues and that skin is more sensitive sometimes and hurts more or is more liekly to have complications like infection

scars can even reopen duirng the tattooing process and theyll stop and you cant have it finished. your tattoo artist should be really familiar with tattooing over scars if youre considering that and should be able to consult you on if its even possible.

id be more concerned about how it would be over the scar tissue than about any potential weight changes that are in the future

it's a thin scar that is YEARS old. it's not deep.

If you lose weight the tattoo can both distort and migrate.
Yes weight loss can actually change where your tattoo was, it could have been centered,  then you lose weight and it's suddenly off to the left instead of dead center.

I'd get it in a spot that wont stretch or shrink too much, so like not the underarms for instance
I only have tattoos in that sorta spots for exactly weight loss reasons
