addiction

okay so I'm having a real hard day, my boyfriend is trying to cut his snuff use cause he is addicted and I don't like what is does to him. If he is short he will act like a totally different person and be angry and just cruel. So i decided to give him an ultimatum me or the snuff

he is on day 2 of cutting it and he has been so angry all morning yelling at me, throwing stuff, crying, screaming etc. I don't know what to do. I'm trying to be calm and help him but truly i don't know what I'm doing. I bought all his favorite things from the store and he says he can't eat anything.

If this keeps going I'm not sure how much longer I can take it. I truly hope he will be better tomorrow. He is more calm after i gave him some pain killers for his headache, but I am scared he will have another episode later. I feel so helpless.

withdrawal is very hard to do by yourself, you should get him professional help.

It's snus right?
It's good to know he wanna stop this for u first off, second it's really hard to stop addictions, as hard as it is, please hang onto it, because I'm sure it gets better than this! The first week/weeks are the hardest.

I would say educate yourself on how qutting addictions is being experienced by the person doing it, how to be supportive and set boundaries, communicate properly - safely. Get him a docotors appointment if needed.

try to make him understand or else you'll have to endure that for a while

His doctor is a 2 hours bus drive away and doesn't respond to his messages... I know it can be hard since both my mom and grandma has quit smoking. I remember my mom was very irritated when she stopped

Quitting snus is also perfectly doable without professional help, its not like its heroin or something. I think youre being too kind to him. Maybe its better to just leave him alone to figure it out if he cant behave himself.

And i also dont think snus is supposed to make people act like assholes, like i mean chances are he just kind of is an asshole.

I have been trying to get him to see a therapist for his stress and depression for months and even had other people weigh in with how it's not as bad as he thinks. He thinks it's embarrassing, which it is not.

I think his mental health is a much more likely reason for why hes being like that. Maybe quitting snus isnt a great idea rn.
