Yes, I was (mostly severely) depressed for 6-7(?) years. What helped me was getting into a new environment, changing my eating/sleeping/exercising/etc habits, studying cbt techniques/psychology in general (though I didn't dive too deep, I mainly just studied cbt stuff), using apps such as Habits, Woebot, BoosterBuddy, Youper and Sanvello, writing a gratitude diary and setting up easy short- and long-term goals. Idk if I did something else too but those at least.
It was a long process though, recovery never happens overnight and setbacks are normal and expected to happen. But now I've been depression free for an year and 2(?) months so.. Cool.
