Every vampire-book is cliche

Ofc isn't every single one cliche but I kind of feel like I can't help but judge them based on another one if there are similarities between the qualities between vampires. Let's give some movie and tv-show examples; the vampires (not characters but the creature itself) in true blood, the vampire diaries and twilight are drastically different from each other and when watching one you don't feel like it's just a copy from something else. But a lot of stuff just feels like a re-write of something else since vampires are such an overly used concept.

Do you agree or do you think there still can be published a good vampire book that doesn't feel out-dated?

låt den rätte komma in (let the right one in) is like the only genuinely good and unique book with vampires i can think of

That was published in 2004. I agree it's a good book but do you think it would be just as good if it came out today?

Vampired has been dead in YA for like 5 years before The Beautiful came out last year (it sucked, i am sad.) also i am just still so tired of vampires. I know there are more upcoming tho.

Im sorta interested in reading the historian  tho

no no! But this is what I mean. It's an interesting thing with an outdated concept where no one dares to take big chances on creating something unique

Yes definitely. But thats mostly bc the author is so good but its still pretty unique from most other vampire books. The author is generally very good at making a different and realistic spin on common/popular horror stuff

It also sticks out from other vampire stories since most of them tend to be centered around romance and young adults while let the right one in is about 2 kids in a normal small swedish suburb befriending each other cuz they are both lonely in their own ways and then u get a sideplot with the local alcoholics. Elis (the vampire kid) backstory is also very unique and complex (the stuff regarding her gender, her current caretaker/blood supplier murdering for her just so that she will live with him and fulfill his needs since he is a pedophile and eli will stay 12 forever etc. then theres also oskars problem with bullies and his family issues and his obsession with violence and murder in contrast to elis non violent and empathic nature

I mean.. i guess not doing vampires is a choice. Since vampires like do have the basics of blood sucking, teeth and all that. Like maybe u can save it with s non vampire focused plot but yeah
