jokes aside tho why is it so hard to find part-time or entry-level positions that don't completely rely on social skills ?

like i've worked as a waitress before, but that work is just so incredibly draining that i can't keep it up for more than a few months, and almost all jobs that i can find are waiting tables, hosting, front office desk work, call center stuff, customer service, babysitting, tutoring, etc.

like if i had any IT/tech skills it'd be a different story, but i only have language skills, and nobody's hiring entry level translators ? so if i wanted to do editing or translation i'd have to freelance which ....... again ..... requires a lot of social skills, but then often over the internet which is ..... worse

& idk especially in the present situation i can't really go out and network ( not that i'm good at that anyway ) so really the only way to find a job is online

idk man just sucks to have like, zero marketable skills and then also be bad at performing the incredibly undervalued and underpaid but at least available emotional work of the service industry

they're like "we're a flexible work environment!" but that doesnt mean they take ur schedule into account, it means that they'll cancel your shifts when it suits them and expect you to show up when you're not scheduled

and they say "don't have a 9-5 mentality!" which just means they want you to continue to do work even when they are no longer paying for your time

or, and this is really the biggest red flag of all and occurs often on openings for waitressing, hosting, or front office work: they have requirements that you look "neat, 'verzorgd' or put together" which is another way of saying, being enjoyable to look at is part of the fucking job description

i don't wanna freelance because that kind of instability would be incredibly overwhelming to me !
i don't wanna have to interact socially as a main part of my job because interacting w unfamiliar people is incredibly stressful and exhausting !
i don't wanna work a minimum wage job where a manager is constantly trying to find ways to squeeze every last ounce of labor out of me while treating me like i'm the problem instead of a human being deserving of dignity !

u can have my time and work in exchange for money, but u cant have my soul ! my sense of self ! my dignity ! my well-being ! it isnt worth it !
