i think couples argue about small things because there are bigger things behind the arguments, idk if that made sense but that's what i can see from my own relationship. i used to argue with my bf over small things because there was a bigger issue "hidden" behind it but once you find out what the root it then you find out that it wasn't even the small things you were arguing about 

or you argue about small things because you aren't in a good place?
