but if I suddenly get the feeling you're not worth my niceness anymore ... there really needs to be a power dynamic (like boss, coworker or you know, family members you have to be nice to for the sake for peace at the annual dinner) for me to fake it

so either you are brilliant at faking it or you think worse of yourself as you are
also, maybe I'm the wrong person to judge, because I know I'm a bit more on the gruff side, but generally speaking, you really don't seem to be a terrible person
