hey guys

a lot of you are in university right now

when do you go back to school?

will you be going back in person or will school be online?

is anyone taking a break from school because of covid?

if i was in school right now i would have to drop out. school was really hard for me and i wasn't able to do online classes. if my classes were all online because of some pandemic that just would have been the end of it for me. i could not have done it like this. i'd have dropped out.

idk i just thought id ask u guys how youre feeling about school coming back and let you guys know that i think this is really unfair and shit for you guys to have to deal with this during school. school is hard enough.

theres a lot of talk around here locally about school.

one of the universities in illinois is gonna have in person classes and require kids to get covid testing twice a week to be on campus??? like wtf who has time to visit the doctor twice a week in college that shit is insane.

the chicago public schools are gonna be online. they just made the call like yesterday.

But some of it has to b at school anyway cus its practical work (cooking food) (since uts food school thing its kinda neccesary)

I haven't heard anything abt it tho so thats why I assume its normal but idk

things r going pretty ok tbh
i did really good last semester even when things closed down, the uni changed all our exams to home exams so that was good

my uni has decided to have some online classes and some irl classes. i study to become a teacher so we have a very classical "classroom teaching" in groups of 20-40 people so it's not that hard to have irl classes. we have it once a week.

i'm more nervous about the public transport there tbh
i might ride my bike, but i live faaar from campus

My sister will go to school normally this year and I will do online courses as I can't do the normal ones (I have a full-time job). I've always preferred and performed better in online courses so it's ok for me

I'm more worried about my workplace (hotel) where we have to come to work even if we're sick bc we don't have enough workers as my boss doesn't seem to understand why this is problematic despite me explaining this to her around 990434 times : )

Also the online classes thing is just anxiety tbh, learning level ain't any harder at home imo but I will die

I start classes on the 17th but have some meetings before. Will have mostly in person classes and some online. There's the 1m rule and supposedly we are gonna wash all the desks when were done with each class

Im starting classes on monday and as far as i know it's irl.

Im gonna go, but i will likely also choose to not sit shoulder to shoulder with my friends.
Besides i think my school with have the same rules as before summer break, we have to wash our hands when we come, sanitize our hands and end of class we have to sanitize our hands again and wash our tables and chairs off.

My uni closed pretty fast after the whole covid stuff came out in late february/ early march. My class were working in groups on an animation project, so we mostly worked at home already.
We used to meet up on Mondays to like show of how far we had gotten with the project, rest of the time was spent at home, so when we had to start taking online classes it wasn't really that different.

I thnk we're starting the 17th this month, and I believe the uni will be open again when that happens.
Regarding social distance and all I think it will be fine as we dont really sit that close anyway since we're in a datalab where there's like 2 desks on each side of the room and rows back to the end of the classroom. ⁽ᴵ'ᵐ ʰᵒⁿᵉˢᵗˡʸ ˢᵒ ˢᵒʳʳʸ ᶠᵒʳ ᵐʸ ᵉˣᵖˡᵃⁿᵃᵗᶦᵒⁿ, ᴵ ˢᵘᶜᵏ ᵃᵗ ᵉˣᵖˡᵃᶦⁿᶦⁿᵍ ˢᵒ ᵐᵘᶜʰ⁾

no its harder at home depending on your learning style. for some people its easier but for some people its harder because its different. its not an anxiety thing- for me its really hard to concentrate and i really lose out on a lot without being in the room with the instructor and peers.

We had zoom lectures all semester long but now they make us write exams in the usual uni gym lol
Had 2 tests last week, the next 2 on Monday

They plan on going back to 'presence lectures and seminars' at uni but with 200 ppl max and more space but it's a joke honestly
And we had 800 new cases today bc people are fucking stupid and need to go on holiday all over the country  so who knows if we can go back to uni next semester lol

Also I'm broke af because it's hard to find a job and I need to sign the documents to keep my flat for another year but if I won't be able to use it next semester it's 280€ I could have spent for other things I need like new pants bc mine are falling apart ://

Also I'm low key failing bc they gave us double the workload this semester and my attention span is horrible on zoom
