Worked as a server at a "konfirmation"
this older lady comes to me, after the lady who paid and hired me instructed me to put the welcome drinks on a table inside.

"i think it would be better if you served it and came out with it to ud"
me:
"Uh, well X (the mother of the boy obvi) told me to do it this way" after we literally placed an ungodly amount of glasses on a table, filled them with champagne n strawberries.

"I'll go tell, just put it on a tray and do it, it would be nicer than going in)

....they had to literally just walk inside the kitchen where the table was. They were sitting less than 5 meters from it, outside.

Me: *losing my shit already, but remains professional)

Anyways my "boss" basically told her that the drinks was staying inside. I'm thankful.
but seriously that old karen was annoying and rude throughout the entire service. She got so irritated that i didn't give them the first batch of fresh n cold water to their table, but gave it to another and then went in for the new batch. I just couldn't carry two without spilling, which I told her polite.

This.

It's normal for kids to start experimenting with alcohol and parties at the 15-16 age. It's very normal.

that's fair, but it still encourages underage drinking imo

I don't think it's acceptable, the degree of normality is irrelevant.

Same here but the limit is still 18 here tho, I agree that it promotes underage drinking either way but ee, as long as its only like welcome drinks it isn't really harmful or anything

Well, i can't really say anything else really. I think it might add some sort of "safety" to try it at a younger age, when parents are aware and controlling it. It's a safe solution, instead of getting pissed and have to deal with it alone.
I do  not encourage drinking as a minor, but I think it's a more safe time period to try it.
That's my opinion and so i yours.

However I fail to see how it's wrong to have a welcome drink or for the adults to have a beer or two, or wine with the courses that's being served.
