honestly if these ideals (that anyways are currated by trends and capitalism that will fade in 10 years and leave women scarred for life) didn't exist, and ppl were allowed to just fucking live w/o having to BE LOOKING a specific way, the pressure would go off young ppl and their insecurities would fade.
exposure to social media and the agenda pushed by certain ppl and movements, only alleviate those fears of not fitting into a certain beauty ideal, and fuels the need to "improve and enhance" features ppl consider to be "ugly".
I don't think it would, I think it's an evolutionary need to stand out and look good, it's just exploited and made as toxic and horrible as it is by capitalism and other social constructs.
