so a couple hrs ago some girl posted in an FB group i'm in that her mom was threatening suicide. ppl in the group told her to call 112 but this girl said she couldn't do it cuz she was too anxious. (the group is a support group for ppl with anxiety/panic disorder so somewhat understandable i guess?) so i asked if any of this girl's friends could make the call, or maybe someone from the group could do it if she gives the info. she was on board with the latter & someone else in the group asked me to make the call cuz they couldn't.

so i was fine with that, she messaged me her mom's name and address etc and i called 112, explained the situation and they said they would send an ambulance. after the call i saw in the comment thread that someone was doubting the girl's story and essentially saying maybe she's lying + implying i might have something to do with it. n i haven't even seen this girl before, idk ANYTHING about her i just agreed to call since no one else was volunteering. so now it's been a few hours, ppl have been asking if the ambulance got there and this girl has posted a few messages only saying "everything is fine", even after ppl asked for clarification she only posted "everything is fine" again

and i'm just. anxious. cuz i don't know if i did the right thing? idk what happened after the call i made, what if it made things worse?? and now some woman thinks i'm in on some plot with this girl who i've never seen before. and if she was lying for some reason oh my god am i gonna get in trouble for this??? cuz the 112 operator asked for my name, and i know you can get legal consequences for making false calls to 112 and stuff and i'm so worried oh god

did i just make a huge fucking mistake. i'm so worried. yhhhdheuf

You're anxiety might jump, but I don't think anything bad will happen even if the person was lying. I live in the states but I can't imagine a call like that causing you too much grief if you seriously thought someone was in danger.

I've been in a situation where the person I dealt with was lying (ruined a weekend for me) and cops ended up picking her up as a runaway we were unintentionally stowing away because she tricked me. The cops
were annoyed and her family wasn't happy either but things worked out. I was happy it was a lie and that she wasn't actually at risk of something.

And concerning the others, I'd try to find a way to help yourself ignore them. You know what your intentions were, and them talking like that is rude to do in a group like that, especially without further information being available. Either you saved someones life where others couldn't make the move to, or you'll feel duped and foolish later but no life will be lost.

U genuinely thought someone else was in trouble and called for help, if she was the one who lied then the blame isnt on you. i'm sure the system would rather want people to take things like that seriously than doubt and then someone gets hurt :/
