u can not be body positive if u hav plastic surgeries
i dont care what anyone else says so pls dont try 2 argue w me

imma explain a little bit

how can you talk about body positivity, about loving yourself, with all your flaws, if then you're going to change your whole body because you consider it flawed.
n no, mental illnesses should not be an excuse
and im not talking about people who have actual deformities, bc deformities really do suck and id never judge someone getting surgery bc of that

I think someone could still encourage others to be body positive despite having plastic surgery done. But I would agree that they can't authentically preach body positivity (assuming the plastic surgery was purely cosmetic)

i think it depends. i've had plastic surgery (lol) but I was rly young and easily influenced by my parents who pushed for it, and i don't exactly regret it but i wouldn't go back and do it again

Yeah that sounds like a somewhat different situation,, but your parents pushed for it? Sounds kind of toxic to me, just out of context like that

my point is that. you can strive to improve your own image without condemning the one you already have, right? like you can get a nose job without hating your nose. you just want a different nose. and you wouldnt mind keeping your old nose but you had the money and opportunity to get a nose job so you did. thats my stance anyway

young kids/teens will always, sadly, be pushed 2 do certain things that may not be the greatest decisions

I get what you're saying, but there's a big difference.. you can't compare addiction to plastic surgery imo

yeah, it was really toxic. at the time i didn't realise it, but looking back it was fucked up how they basically convinced me that i needed it

mmh if youre capable of getting plastic surgeries to the point that if you put two photos of yourself with and without those plastic surgeries and they're like looking at different people, it is an addiction to plastic surgery
