Tb to when my dad had to id himself to the bank so he could get nettbank and he asked if his expired passport would be okay and they were like sure, and then he showed up with it and it wasn't okay. and they also asked him to bring basically a paper stating that he was legally living in Norway .. lovlig opphold or whatever. Which is BEYOND WILD as he is from FINLAND. 
Anyway, he had to go to the Finnish embassy in Oslo to get a passport which cost 1200 (for the passport) and pay for going to Oslo and all that, only to hear the words "the person ID on this passport doesn't correspond to the one we have registered in the bank" which is not very surprising at all as my dad has two personal IDs, one for Finland and one for Norway, as he is only a Finnish citizen OBVIOUSLY his FINNISH ID is in the passport rather than the Norwegian one  Idiots.
