Why is he doing this?

or maybe he doesn't want anything serious but me liking him =/= me expecting a very serious relationship NOW

i bet he was just warming u up, like i have seen multiple guys do this before, they get u interested and committed, but then changes their tune to throw you off or make u shower him w compliments or do things for him. 
if you don't say stop now, he'll continue this behavior and become worse.

sounds like a response to severe lack of self confidence...,, he's scared youll dump him so hes doing it himself so it'll be easier when it happens aka repeating "do u hate me" until you actually do

if he doesnt stop it shouldnt be your problem to deal with. tell him to go to therapy
