depending of the size and form of your lecture, you don't need to tell the teacher, but proper form would be just to write a mail and say you have a doctor's appointment you unfortunately can't reschedule and will miss the lecture

yeah idk, i thought it was kind of an urgent issue but i'm not rly sure now,, yesterday the ER phone line told me if the issue gets worse i'll have to go to ER n maybe get surgery haha but now they're sending me to a physiotherapist so idk. it did kinda sound like i have to go in asap but i'm not sure hhh

I would write an email and hope for the best, also let your doctor/therapist sign those 'they are sick and couldn't attend class' forms

dude I missed some lectures bc i had to the to the hospital for tests / get examined
ppl get sick
