hi same I had my dad ship some of my moms fancy wine glasses when I moved across the country in march and a couple of them showed up completely shattered 
it made me so sad but LUCKILY all the china holiday sets were in perfect condition

ya just the way the paint is, its super obvious where the cracks are 
I guess better that than nothing at all though, the wine glasses were beyond repair

no its not food safe but i dont think u should eat from a broken plate, its more for a keepsake since it means something to you
