Unpopular opinion: Virtual Popstar is greedy
Bernie meme = Me complaining about VP's greediness.

Sorry (not sorry), but I need to complain, but I offer you examples.

Example 1: The coupon for the 24th did not work at all yesterday, so I tried it now, just to receive the notification; "The coupon code has reached the maxium claim account". Why have a "maxium claim account" on a christmas calender? You can only get one code from either the user or the IP-adress.
[If anyone knows how many code you can claim max, then please let me know]
When it is problem with using the code the 24th, then It would be nice if it at least work the next day. I tried the code between 01:30 and 15:00 without it working, so I thought it would work the next day, but here I am 01:00 and it's gone.

Example 2: When the flash games got removed earlier this year, then no other game was added to get sets or popdollar. The administrator(s) could at least make more "podium places" temporarily before fixing it f.eks. 15 instead of 10, or make a seperate one for girls and boys.
Example 3: When we first are talking about the games, they were often buggy, so that you did not earn the money because the game broke. Bonus thing that confuses me; How you get 0 seconds on the "Top 10 of all time"? These games sure are buggy, in the not fun way.
Example 4: When playing snake you need to get 100 cherries on the last level without loosing any lifes to complete the game (which is fucking impossible), and you "ONLY" get
150 popdollar + 150 fans?

Maybe I am bad at snake, but I only get to 40 cherries and it's no way in hell I can keep ut with the length of the snake PLUS the speed. How do you do that even?
Example 5: There are so many functions you can't do without having a manager
- Adding polls (forums, blog, guestbook)
- Achieve 2 kind of levels
- Background on profile
+ more.
On the other hand:
- The calander this year, was really lovely. Very nice sets to all the people that have worked on it, you are amazing. I really hope you get real life $$$ as well (designers) and other benefits.
- Today and yesterday the calender was really generous with benefits, so not saying that VP don't give out cash or benefits at all, only the code claimer thing annoyed me a lot.
- I understand manager has benefits so that you want to give VP money, so they can have the site up, but I still think some things are a little bit "greedy" for example acheieving levels [which is hard] and the polls [which is fun].
- Question: Do you loose the level achived if you loose your manager? I'm very curious.
P.S I am very new to the site, but just giving my view on things. I am not saying that I am not happy with VP, just that I would enjoy it more if it was a bit more generous with it's users and player. There are so many sets that are cool, but you need promotion points to buy them. The promotion points (although I understand why it's hard to get, it's called promotion points) could be achived in other ways aswell.

Update, because this thread got more attention than I thought it would:
The original post (if not noticed) is addressed to Kaj. Not to the users, not to the people of the teams that are doing amazing work.
I hope my other comments on this thread has showed that I am not critizing someone, especially not the people that put their heart in their work, and do it voluntary.
Sidenote:
- new here, and don't know everything about the site; how it works, who does what, and I don't know anything about programming or economics (for that matter). Therefore the thread with some questions, and opportunity for him (or other people) to tell me their point of view.
- The christmas calender was really amazing. Thank you to the people that worked on it, and also the people that work on this site all year round. You make this site worth it for many people.
- Not my attention to make drama, only wanted to rant .
- Thank you for the (constructive) criticism. I take note and try to be more careful with some of the points next time. Although I stand with what I said on the examples.
