When my city decided to fully legalize them for the 4th of July in 2019 everywhere looked like a foggy morning, but it was firework smoke. I got really really sick off of it, my throat swelled up and if I didn't see a doctor and get prescribed albuterol for some time I would've had chronic non-infectious inflammatory lung disease.

And lemme just add:
- I had no pre-existing conditions such as asthma. The doctor I saw thought I was exposed to fires that were happening in Cali at the time. (I had never been to Cali in my life)
- I can't leave the house without an n-95 on the 4th of July. It's the only mask that filters smoke.

I got too drunk one new years n had to go to the hospital n the amount of fucking drunk people screaming being rolled in without fingers jesus fuck

Some people need to be more careful thought. Use your protective glasses, make sure they are placed stable before you light them, keep your distance, all of that. And if you're in a neighborhood with pets, wait until 12 to light them to spare the animals as much as you can -- and those with them have to take their measurements.

It's only legal in denmark between december 27th and january 1st too, but it starts already end november, start december.

I think if anything there should be a limited amount and something like a special permision or something.

A permit maybe, but I still don't like that they're now allowed in residential areas.
Horrible for health and probably the added danger of house fires.
