so the capitol terrorists in the US got put on no fly lists for some airlines (flight attendants unions, A++ on y'all) and the videos are fucking surreal.

The US is outta control y'all and it has been for a long ass time, and the news is only showing things in big cities.

god just imagine being in an airport, already one of the most cursed places imaginable, and having to listen to a trumper have a temper tantrum on top of that

Y'all I've lived in Kentucky for seven, almost eight years now. I live in a town that was literally formed by an abolitionist priest.
Our local college that was founded on abolitionist values and formed in slaveholding kentucky, has students CONSTANTLY harassed and intimidated by rebel flag wielding trucks (and sometimes mopeds...)

It's surreal but not
nothing shocks me anymore

I literally watched someone get kicked out of Goodwill a few weeks ago over fighting the mask mandate.
They had to threaten the dude with cops.
These fuckers are so entitled.

man I have a lot of mixed feelings about being here because so many liberal/progressive folk just wanna leave
and my thought on it, is if everyone who wants to see a better country leaves, it will never get better, and the folks who do not have the means to get out are the ones who will suffer.
It's why I'm okay living in a place like kentucky

i get exactly what u mean. i think the issue is america as a country has such a long, long, long way to go. its just so entrenched in this capitalist nationalist identity that i understand why a lot of people would rather move somewhere better than start the fight against it even though thats what makes the fight so hard in the first place

the brainwashing has always run deep and the last four years have just made it worse.
When I used to work in public schools (as a substitute teacher) I was SO REPULSED when I would sub a history class and they'd have STRAIGHT UP PROPAGANDA on the walls downing other political systems, like anything but capitalism was demonized. I wish I took photos.

oh trust me i believe u 100%. i live in canada and we're still not great but the comparison really feels night and day. i couldnt imagine having my only two real political choices being really far right and completely unashamed or a little to the right but by comparison looks left leaning. i think all of these events are culminating into hopefully will be a key moment for the united states but the scary possibility of a civil war is not the greatest thing to be thinking about

I've pretty much never seen anything good happen politically since I was born so I'm embarrassingly used to all this.
I was talking to someone the other day about how I can no longer discern one school shooting from the next because it's been such a constant in the news pretty much since I was born.
