i get exactly what u mean. i think the issue is america as a country has such a long, long, long way to go. its just so entrenched in this capitalist nationalist identity that i understand why a lot of people would rather move somewhere better than start the fight against it even though thats what makes the fight so hard in the first place
the brainwashing has always run deep and the last four years have just made it worse.
When I used to work in public schools (as a substitute teacher) I was SO REPULSED when I would sub a history class and they'd have STRAIGHT UP PROPAGANDA on the walls downing other political systems, like anything but capitalism was demonized. I wish I took photos.
oh trust me i believe u 100%. i live in canada and we're still not great but the comparison really feels night and day. i couldnt imagine having my only two real political choices being really far right and completely unashamed or a little to the right but by comparison looks left leaning. i think all of these events are culminating into hopefully will be a key moment for the united states but the scary possibility of a civil war is not the greatest thing to be thinking about
