insurance isn't really a common thing in finland, it's more of a rich people thing. the government does have some benefits where they pay part of your therapy costs, but you can get it for 3 years max and i've already used mine when i was younger. also not everyone can get that in the first place if they're deemed a "hopeless case"

edit
"hopeless case" meaning "we don't think you could become a profitable member of society through therapy" not "therapy would not help you"

maybe talk to ur doctor to figure out if they can help you in any way with that? bc I got "diagnosed" with anxiety by my doctor, I actually could get free therapy. (in this case where i'm from you either had to be diagnosed with depression or anxiety and I also think if you have been exposed to something traumatic, like r*pe, u could get free therapy)

"" hence a doctor can't diagnose you with mental illnesses, but that's how they stupidly do it. idk maybe there's other ways to do it here, but that was what I told by the psychologist at my old school

nvm thought of semester. It's half of that, 197 euro a year. Then you get therapy free rest of the year.

i feel you. i've been on a waiting list for 'free therapy' a while now (nearly a year). and even then, you see a nurse therapist (not even a psychologist) for a couple of times, they 'discharge' you, then you have to wait all over again. i'm not rich enough to see a psychologist lol

Thought Findland had "exemption card" after x amount of money paid for therapy. Sad if one should pay insane amount of money to get help.

before, I was on a waiting list to see a psychiatrist, eventually I saw them and they upped my antipsychotics and gave me a months worth of diazepam and discharged me. they didn't even want to see me again for a medication review!! useless

is it cheaper in the US though? i'm curious. if insurance covers therapy how much does it usually end up costing?

I only need to pay about circa 200 euros all together in therapy costs, medical costs, transportation costs until I get this card and from there I get it all free

I feel so bad for those who live in places where it's so expnesive to get help
