Not only have I not seen the Simpsons in years, I havent seen every episode (family guy was more my generation)

I recently added disney+ so I've been watching it from the start. I forgot how many heartwarming moments were in the golden era! Nice surprise

I didnt intended for this thread to be about the Simpsons but if it is that's ok

This episode is also extremely sweet ♡

The writers were able to tug at ur heart strings in a way that feels really sincere, hard to pull off

Honestly reccomend the first 8 seasons of this show if u havent really seen it, theyre incredible

I was  barely 4 when the simpsons were still at their peak. I watched it w/ my dad but i honestly forgot about it when i started watching futurama and family guy when I was 8 lol. They both aired in 99 and I'm a 2000s kid so it makes sense

Disney+ doesnt have stark raving dad (which is also really heartwarming) b/c of michael jackson but otherwise most of the episodes r up

I highly reccomend checking it out. If the first couple episodes r boring start w/ season 3 or 4 and then rewatch the early seasons, I mean they have their moments but they're also kinda slow

The episodes dumb and closeface of moral orel omg ♡ especially the ending of dumb where bendy and joe bond... all joe wanted was a parent who wasnt old enough to be his grandparent and bendy wanted a son and they got their wish

probably yes, would be awkward that an accused pedofile would be on an original kids streaming service, though i dont know what aspect his character takes in the show.

Isnt that what makes the emotional moments of the golden Simpsons so heartwarming tho?

Yeah they're a dysfunctional working class family and homer may be oafish but its obvious he still loves his kids regardless

Oddly enough the old episodes of family guy took te same format, its weird how supportive they all were of meg, then it went from peter being misguided yet well intended to a downright sociopath who hates his kids

Maggie makes three hits close to home for anyone who has made a sacrifice for someone they love tbh, its one of my favorites
