so i actually was discussing this in class and they have a study on people who lose taste versus people who lose sight. when you lose sight you typically have a difficult first year but are able to adapt within that first year, versus people who lose taste (or smell) who suffer long bouts of depression and often times are unable to cope.
so for me, it would be taste which is mostly smell anyway.
idk if id mind taste
bbut at th same time sushi brings me more joy thn all th gross food makes me miserable
but like also mb id finally eat vegetables
really it would be smell that would be the hardest to lose, as taste is made up of not only tastebuds but also orthonasal and retronasal olfactory senses ... you get the majority of your taste from your exhale and the smells you get from it. not being able to smell anything ... and therefore not taste ... food would just become matter, you'd never smell a summer's day. it would be like hell on earth. how beautiful is the peach tree if one cannot savor what comes from it?
idk i almost always have a stuffed nose i dont smell much
